9 Huts on a Hill at Bak Bak Beach in Kudat, opened for business in January 2017. This resort has eco-friendly facilities which will be the perfect place to rest and recharge. The huts are designed in authentic Rungus Borneo Longhouse style furnished with mattresses, mosquito nets, air conditioner and fans. With these sea-view huts, you are bound to have the perfect setting for yoga and rest.

  • Bio : Gisele’s yoga journey began in New Zealand, where she attended studio classes for many years. In 2018, she completed her YA-certified teacher training in Thailand. She has since been traveling, teaching yoga & meditation classes in Asia, Africa & Europe. She also currently teaches online classes.

Tran Truc Duyen (Maggie Nguyen)

  • Name : Tiara Brooke
  • Bio : I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years. I started as a curious teenager eager to learn more about the yogic lifestyle to destress thanks to a blend of American and Australian influences. I kickstarted my yoga teacher journey in March 2019 after completing the Yoga Teacher Training (YTT 500) course in India. In my free time, I enjoy baking, hiking and connecting with friends from different cultures. Yoga has allowed me to embrace and experience life as an adventure! I aim to inspire and motivate my students through my teaching. Let's breathe, pause, rewind, ground and practice together! Namaste!

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI). Transfer from and to this airport is available for an additional cost of 350 MYR. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or arrange for a private transfer to 9 Huts on a Hill. The journey takes around three to four hours, but the scenic drive along the coastal roads makes it a worthwhile experience, offering breathtaking views of the ocean and lush green landscapes.

Arrival by bus

Alternatively, for those who prefer a more adventurous route, you can also take a local bus from Kota Kinabalu to Kudat. The bus journey takes approximately five to six hours, but it allows you to immerse yourself in the local culture and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Once you reach Kudat, you can easily hire a taxi or arrange for a transfer to 9 Huts on a Hill, which is just a short distance away.
